Game Rules
⚽ Youth Soccer Rules (Ages 7–8)Ball size: Size 4
Players on field: 7v7 (including the goalie)
Game length: Four 10-minute quarters with a 7–10 minute halftime---🔹 Starting the Game* Coin flip: Winner chooses goal, loser’s team kicks off.
* Kickoff: Begins at the center circle. Ball must be passed backward to a teammate.
* Switch sides: Teams change sides at halftime.---🔹 Ball In & Out of Play* In play: Ball is still in play if it touches the line, post, corner flag, or referee.
* Out of play: Ball is only out when it completely crosses the sideline (throw-in) or goal line (goal/corner).---🔹 Scoring & Winning* A goal counts only if the entire ball crosses the goal line.
* Team with most goals wins.Draws:
* Regular matches can end tied.
* Tournament play → up to 2 extra quarters, then a penalty shoot-out (5 kicks each, alternating players).---🔹 Player Rules* No hands: Only the goalie may use hands (fingers → upper arm). Shoulder use is legal.
* Two-touch rule: A player cannot touch the ball twice in a row when restarting play (throw-ins, free kicks, etc).---🔹 RestartsThrow-ins:* Both feet on the ground and Ball thrown behind & over the head. No side throws allowedGoal kicks: Taken inside goal area. Opponents stay outside penalty box until ball is live.Corner kicks: From corner arc, may go directly in goal. Defenders must stay 9.15m (30 ft) away.Free kicks:Indirect → must touch another player before scoring.

* Only keeper defends
* Keeper must keep both feet on line until ball is struck---🔹 Goalkeeper Rules* May handle the ball only within the penalty box.
* Must stay on goal line during penalty kicks until ball is kicked.---🔹 Misconduct & Fouls* Handball (fingers → shoulder)
* Pushing, tripping, kicking, striking, holding, or aggressive play.
* Results in indirect or direct free kicks (depending on severity).---
